With a further 326 runs required with 9 wickets in hand Pakistan are alive and very much in the contest! Salman Butt and Azhar Ali are presently both not out and were looking very solid in the evening session as Pakistan concluded day 3 at 114/1.
Why Pakistan Shouldn't Win This Test!:
1) It would be the highest ever 4th innings chase in the formidable history of the game
2)It would be Pakistan's highest chase in Test history and one may say how is that manageable with an inexperienced batting line up?
3)It would be the highest chase at Lords. Previous is 341 by WI.
4)Pakistan lack depth in the batting and the tail is usually more often than not hopeless, so if the match gets tense, Pakistan have limited ability!
Surely and inevitably history and logic is against Pakistan?
Nevertheless, we back Pakistan as ever and to conclude positively let me mention:.......................
Congratulations to Umar Gul for his 100th Test Match Wicket! He is the 14th Pakistani to reach the milestone!

I don't see Pakistan winning.Reasons being,the fact that they have two debutants in their batting order.Both will be nervous after having a bad 1st innings.Besides,as you rightly said,tail may not wage if required.
Only chance they have is riding on Salman Butt's batting with support from Akmal brothers and Afridi.
Australia will be determined,just like they were in Pak's 1st innings.Ponting is a great captain and I am sure he will bring out the best from his team inspite of the injuries.
