India beat SL by 81 runs in the final and by doing so are crowned champions of the Asia Cup for the magical 5th time, the first team to do so!

Shahid Khan Afridi was announced as player of the tournament for his two excellent centuries against SL and BD so there was something to cheer about for Pakistani fans.

The triumph for India adds to their continuous achievements as a nation under the impressive leadership of MS Dhoni!

This under MS includes:

-Winning the 2007 inaugural World T20 in RSA
-Gaining the no1 test spot for team India
-Winning the Commonwealth Bank series in a triangular series which also involved Australia and SL in Australia
- Winning the IPL with CSK in 2010
-Asia Cup Glory 2010

A successful captaincy it can be said with a sense of certainty!One just wonders if MS can now get his hands on the ultimate prize of the 2011 subcontinental WC next year?

Yesterday is the anniversary of when Pakistan won the 2009 ICC World T20 against SL in the grand final at Lords. Exactly one year later, 21st June proves to be another memorable day for the national side, but this time in terms of record breaking rather than a global triumph.

In between this period there have been several lows, but now the golden times are being re-lived, well for yesterday they were anyhow.
